How to use our mixed-age Geography scheme of work.

For schools with mixed age classes, we have adapted the scheme so that the Year 5 and Year 6 blocks can be used on a two-year cycle.

In the first year of the cycle, all pupils in Year 5 and 6 will follow the Cycle A blocks of lessons.

In the second year, all pupils in Year 5 and 6 will follow the Cycle B blocks of lessons. This ensures that children do not repeat any of the blocks during upper KS2.

Geography Scheme | Year 5/6 | Cycle B: Block 3: Trading Across the Globe | Lesson 3: How are Things Made? is the third lesson in cycle B block 3 for Year 5/6 and focuses on local and global trade. This block of work looks at transportation, supply chains, importing and exporting, fair trade and includes an opportunity to use fieldwork to gather information about the impact of trade is the local area
