Year 3/4 mixed-age climate zones resources, Year 3/4 mixed-age geography scheme of work
Glorious Geography is an effective and easy-to-teach Geography scheme of work from Reception to the end of year 6, with lots of hands-on, practical and engaging elements. Full national curriculum coverage.
How to use our mixed-age Geography scheme of work:
For schools with mixed age classes, we have adapted the scheme so that the Year 3 and Year 4 blocks can be used on a two-year cycle.
In the first year of the cycle, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 will follow the Cycle A blocks of lessons.
In the second year, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 will follow the Cycle B blocks of lessons.
This ensures that children do not repeat any of the blocks during KS2.
Geography Scheme | Year 3/4 | Cycle A | Block 2: From the North Pole to the South Pole | Lesson 3: What is a Biome? the third lesson in Cycle A block 2 for Year 3/4 and covers climate zones. The block introduces the terms ‘longitude’ and ‘latitude’ and covers the four main climate zones, biomes, vegetation belts and the effects of climate change on the Earth’s climate zones.
The blocks are designed to be taught in order, but can be re-ordered according to your own school curriculum.
Each block has:
🌍 An enquiry based approach + fieldwork skills

🌍 Continuous provision guidance and ideas
🌍 Editable PowerPoints that model the learning
