How to Use Our Mixed-Age Geography Scheme of Work

For schools with mixed-age classes, we have tailored the scheme to suit Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 class groups organised into a two-year cycle:

• In the first year of the cycle, all pupils in Year 3 and 4 follow the Cycle A blocks of lessons, and pupils in Year 5 and 6 follow their corresponding Cycle A blocks.
• In the second year, Year 3 and 4 pupils progress to the Cycle B blocks, as do Year 5 and 6 pupils.

This approach ensures that pupils do not repeat any units and benefit from a comprehensive Geography curriculum throughout KS2.
