Explore our A nó Á: Musical Words Game | Rebecca The Irish Teacher Range from our Rebecca The Irish Teacher Range. A musical chairs type game but with a focus on the a or á sound as Gaeilge.
How to use
– Ask children to cut up the vocabulary on the cards and have them facing up. Play a song and when the music stops they need to stick an image on the correct a or á page provided. For instance, the image “carr” would be stuck on the “a” page.
– There is an option to print the images without the written version if you want to challenge your students also. There is a blank template of cards also for children to add their own words that use the corresponding sound, allowing them to lead their learning.
– A fun way to revise or introduce children to the difference between the a and á sound as Gaeilge.
– The finished product could be stuck up in the room as a poster to remind the children of the different sounds.
