How to use our mixed-age Geography scheme of work.

For schools with mixed age classes, we have adapted the scheme so that the Year 5 and Year 6 blocks can be used on a two-year cycle.

In the first year of the cycle, all pupils in Year 5 and 6 will follow the Cycle A blocks of lessons.

In the second year, all pupils in Year 5 and 6 will follow the Cycle B blocks of lessons.
This ensures that children do not repeat any of the blocks during upper KS2.

Geography Scheme | Year 5/6 | Cycle B | Block 1: Do People Live in the Amazon Rainforest? | Lesson 5: How does Life in Manaus Compare to Life Here? is the fifth lesson in Cycle B Block 1 for mixed-age Year 5/6 and focuses on an area study of a location in South America. The blocks are designed to be taught in order, but can be re-ordered according to your own school curriculum.
